Description

Electrical steel mainly consists of grain-oriented electrical steel and non-oriented electrical steel. Grain-oriented electrical steel widely used in transformer industry. Non-oriented electrical steel widely used in motor industry.

The difference between oriented silicon steel and non-oriented silicon steel

Non-oriented silicon steel: ferrosilicon alloy with very low carbon content. In the deformed and annealed steel sheet, its grains are distributed randomly. The silicon content of the alloy is 1.5% to 3.0%, or the sum of the silicon and aluminum content is 1.8% to 4.0%. The products are usually cold-rolled plates or strips, which are mainly used to manufacture motors and generators.

Oriented silicon steel: It has strong directionality, the lowest iron loss value in the rolling direction, the highest magnetic

permeability, and a higher magnetic induction value under a certain magnetization field. The silicon content of oriented silicon steel is about 3%. It also requires a low content of oxide inclusions in the steel and must contain certain inhibitors (MnS, A1N).

The requirement of Silicon Steel:

  1. Low Iron Loss, which is the most important value of the silicon steel quality. The lower iron steel, the higher brand number.
  2. Under the strong magnetic induction, it is with high magnetic induction intensity, which can make motor and transformer core size and weight less, save the silicon steel sheet, copper wire and insulation material.
  3. Smooth surface, and uniformity of thickness, which can improve filling coefficient of iron core.
  4. Good blanking property, which is more important for producing mini and small motor.
  5. Surface insulation film adhesion and good weldability, which can corrosion resistant and improve blanking property performance.

Applications

Electrical steel (silicon steel sheet) is mainly divided into two categories: grain-oriented electrical steel and grain non-oriented electrical steel.

The direction of easy magnetization grains of oriented electrical steel is distributed along the rolling direction. The rolling direction has excellent characteristics such as high magnetic induction, low iron loss and low magnetostriction. At the same time, it can also be processed by magnetic domain refinement technology to obtain lower iron Loss of performance, widely used in the field of transformer industry.

The grain direction of non-oriented electrical steel is randomly distributed, and the electromagnetic properties are uniform in all directions. It is widely used in the motor industry.
